Did you know that thousands of professional photographers count on Canvas on Demand to turn their photos into top-quality, gallery-wrapped canvases? Well, in this article, I want to tell you about one of our pros, Kim Ludwig.
She explained to me how she became a professional animal photographer. The story actually began more than a decade ago when Kim started capturing some amazing moments with Buster, her English Cocker Spaniel. “He was such an accommodating dog, and I snapped him in so many poses. Some were outrageously funny like drinking coffee in his bathrobe or playing baseball and golf. I was encouraged to move from amateur to professional when I began entering photo contests and winning.”
Kim was hoping to get just the right portrait to advertise her whimsical kids and pet portrait business, Rolling Meadows Studio. “I called my sister-in-law and asked to borrow my niece and her new puppy, Bobby, a Bichon Frise. Celia is very shy, just like I was as a child, and I wasn’t sure if she would be comfortable being the center of attention in front of the camera. I think having her new puppy with her put her at ease. She jumped right in, trying on different outfits and posing. She looked radiant in that red dress, and it was her choice to pull up the hood. We enjoyed ourselves, laughing so hard at the silly things Bobby was doing. That photo shoot was the perfect bonding experience between aunt and niece!”
Kim’s efforts paid off! “I ended up with the shot I had hoped to get! Celia had one eye looking at the camera and part of her face hiding behind Bobby. I love that flowing blonde hair and her sweet white puppy. It all worked together to portray her shyness and innocence, exactly what I was looking for! It’s one of my favorite pieces of work. I can’t stop looking at it!
The artists at Canvas on Demand did a beautiful job creating a canvas that I can be proud to display. I put it up on a large floor easel to advertise my business, and you wouldn’t believe how many compliments I get on it. Now that I know the quality of Canvas on Demand’s products, I offer the option to my customers.”
Kim’s professional website and blog,www.rollingmeadowstudios.com,is a showcase of her artistic skills, featuring a photographic plethora of her wild and domestic subjects: dogs, cats, horses, iguanas, birds, and insects. Kim, I sure enjoyed passing your story along to our readers. Keep up the great work! Mom
