About the organization:

Throughout the school year the White Pine team documented their work in the school, community and the county, teaching and helping others learn about energy conservation through the reduction of resource use, reusing materials and recycling.

The teamed also learned about energy conservation using NEED resources and lessons, partnering with Appalachian Electric Cooperative and taking field trips.

Team members practiced reducing energy at the school and in their own homes.

Throughout the year the team gave presentations to different county and state level political leaders and also participated in local events and festivals to give out information on conservation.

The team also raised more than $350 for a donation to help fight hunger using recycling proceeds earned through the Trash Hunger Campaign.

Home energy audits were conducted in 212 family homes as part of the Tennessee Home Energy Project and 275 individuals took the Energy Star Pledge.
