All on a Single Canvas

Saturday, May 12th, 2012

One of my favorite styles in canvases is a collage. When I just can’t decide on one image, I usually decide on several…all on one canvas. Customer Jackie thinks just like me. She said, “I absolutelycherish the wonderful photos we had taken last fall as we enjoyed a beautiful day and had such a fun time. A collage is the perfect way to showcase these treasures! The quality and service is remarkable! Thank you so much Canvas on Demand! I’ll be sure to recommend you to friends and family!”

That’s what we love to hear—satisfied customers who are spreading the word. Thanks Jackie

Then Becca decided to do a little Photoshop project that features her paternal grandmother. “This is of  Georgie, and of many photos of mygrandparents and extended family. After scanning a large selection of family photos, I created this composite as a way to feature and display them.” What a great way, Becca, to collectively honor somany at once! She went on to say: “I am very happy with the quality of my finished product. This is my first experience with a canvas wrap, and I was worried that the texture or process might blur some of the photographic detail. Canvas on Demand answered my questions regarding color profiles and file prep. The finished product is everything I could have hoped for!”

Jerry asked us to create a collage canvas of her mom and dad. “ It took some time trying to decide which photos to use to express our entire family. This Canvas is like a family tree. Us, our children, and their children…along with my husband’s mother. We were impressed with the quality of our Canvas and all the options when putting it together. It was fun and easy. We have had lots of compliments on it.”

And finally, what do you think of this one by Fred?  “These are moments in the life of my family. A collage of favorite thoughts. Ifound all your service representatives helpful, knowledgeable, and courteous.”

So the next time you’re having trouble deciding which photo to use…use them ALL and order a collage from Canvas on Demand!  Mom

In Loving Memory

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

How meaningful it is to all of us at Canvas on Demand when we are asked to create a canvas as a memorial for a customer’s loved one.

Helen’s idea is so unique and sensitive. Her daughter had a tough pregnancy and gave birth to a premature baby she later lost. So Helen beautifully compiled postings from Facebook to remind her daughter of the journey she had taken over that year. We turned it to a lovely canvas for her. “It was her favorite gift,” Helen told us. How comforting this reminder must be for her. She is blessed to have such a thoughtful and loving mother!

Tracy also has a canvas that serves as a reminder: “It is of the last family vacation before I lost my Dad. Every time I look at this canvas, I will always remember that his wish to do this trip came true. You guys are great!” I loved reading this story, Tracy! What a wonderful memory. you have created. When we asked Tracy about her experience with Canvas on Demand, she replied, “I have 11 of them, need I say more?? Love it!!”

D P explained that his canvas is created from an image at Arlington National Cemetery of his grandfather’s marker with an American flag. “My grandfather passed away in 2003, and I was able to attend the ceremony and burial. There was no headstone at the time, but several years later I visited at Memorial Day when every grave was marked with a flag. I finally captured a picture of it for my Grandmother. This canvas is spectacular and seems almost 3D when seen in person. I’ve made three canvases so far, with frames and without. All have turned out spectacular.” D P, you really have made our day with your kind remarks.

How creative and poignant is this next canvas that Carol asked us to put on canvas. “My Grandfather was born in Alia Sicily in 1898 and immigrated to the US at the age of 23. He never returned to Alia and never saw his family again. In 2009, my sisters and I started planning a trip to Alia to walk in the town where my Grandfather was born. We took the trip in 2010 and visited the church where my Grandfather was baptized. The hands in the photo are those of the parish priest and the book he is holding is open to the entry in 1898 listing my Grandfather’s baptism. The earliest entries in the volume were dated 1821. I couldn’t have been more pleased. I plan to purchase more from them in the future.”

Don’t Take Our Word for It!

Thursday, April 19th, 2012

It is spring and love is certainly in the air!  Weddings are being planned; receptions are being arranged; honeymoons are being charted…and photographers are being interviewed!  Of course, every newlywed couple should have a photo album on their shelf of their special day, but don’t just tuck those photos away to show off once in a while.  Consider a wall grouping of several of your favorites turned to canvas art, so that they are in proud, perfect view all the time!  So be sure your photographer knows you plan to order some canvas wall hangings from Canvas on Demand and tell them that there are special deals they can check out on our Canvas Pro site.

But you don’t have to take our word about how pleased you’ll be; just listen to how happy a few of our brides and grooms were with the works of art we created for them.

Carrie told us that “this photo really captures the love and emotions of the day, and Canvas on Demand did a wonderful job on our canvas. I can’t stop looking at it, because it’s just so beautiful and crisp!”

Jamelle wrote to tell us “you guys did a fabulous job! And it was very easy for us to order as well!”

Tarah simply said:  “I absolutely love it!  A father and daughter dance!”

Eric had this to say about the photo we turned to canvas for him. “FANTASTIC CUSTOMER SERVICE! This kind of service is extremely rare. An e-mail was sent saying that you were going to change the size I selected to a custom size for no additional charge!”

John loved this photo of him and his bride looking at the ocean for the first time as a married couple in Maui, Hawaii. “A+ True work of Art! I highly recommend Canvas on Demand for heirloom-quality work.”

These testimonials are straight from our customers.  If you want to read more, you can simply check out our Customer Showcase.  Happy planning!  Mom

Honoring a Beloved Grandmother

Saturday, April 14th, 2012

Every now and then—like yesterday—I go antiquing. It always puts me in a nostalgic mood, so when I sat down at my computer to post today’s Canvas on Demand article, I went straight to the Vintage section of our Customer Showcase.

I landed first upon a canvas we created for a customer named Barbara of her boyfriend’s elderly Italian grandmother. Well…not only am I feeling reflective, but I am Italian too! Barbara explained: “The photo is a vintage 1960 photo of my boyfriend’s Nonnie as she was kneading bread dough in their old kitchen. I thought the photo was a timeless portrait. She passed away over 20 years ago and my boyfriend was very close to her. When he opened the package and saw the canvas, tears came to his eyes. That is the best present I’ve ever gotten! I choose Canvas on Demand from an online search. The service was fantastic. I spoke to the staff several times at their initiative to be certain that the quality of the old photo would reproduce to meet my satisfaction. I was very impressed with their attention and the quality packaging of the shipment and speed. I certainly expect to be a repeat customer. Thank you!”

Doesn’t it feel great, Barbara, to find the perfect gift that truly touches someone’s heart. We hear that from our customers every day.

Sarah was another customer who was thrilled with a canvas of her grandmother, RoRo. This is one of my favorite pictures of her because she looks so calm and innocent (very unlike her actual personality). I will definitely recommend Canvas on Demand to my friends. I will use you again!”

Gina loved this photo of her Grandmom. “She and her sister, my Aunt Ann, are both looking so gorgeous at the Cape May, New Jersey shore. Canvas on Demand took time with my order and created a priceless keepsake that I truly cherish.”

I laughed aloud at this next canvas that Kelly asked us to make for her of her grandma and the Misfits! “Wonderful! I have a few more photos to have putt on canvas, and I know you’ll have some new customers, because I can’t stop talking about your company to my friends and family!”

Thanks, Kelly, because no advertising is better than word-of-mouth from our satisfied customers! If our readers are hoping to honor a dear loved one, check out our Customer Showcase Vintage section for ideas. Mom

Are You the Big Sister?

Monday, April 9th, 2012

I love writing this blog, because when I sit down at my computer, I never know what’s going to trip my trigger.  I begin perusing the Customer Showcase testimonials until, suddenly…a canvas—or two or three—shout: “Write about me!”  And I do.

Today, I was captivated by images of big sisters.  I’m a big sis myself, and it’s one of my favorite roles in life.  My sister means the world to me.  Just last week, I came across a quote by author, Barbara Alpert, that I enjoyed.

“A sister. She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities. She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway. She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink. And some days, she’s the reason you wish you were an only child.”

The first Big Sis canvas I’d like to share belongs to customer Sharon who sent us this photo of her two granddaughters at the beach and asked if we’d turn it into a canvas for her.  She later wrote to say: “I am very pleased with the service and finished product. I just placed my third order! I will order again and again.”  Thanks, we love that sort of feedback, Sharon!

I enjoyed the coloring in this next canvas that we created for a customer named Mark.  He explained that The photo is of two of my grand-daughters taken by my daughter during a visit to Disneyland. My daughter utilized Photoshop to fade some of the color. Canvas on Demand’s service was great and simple to use. I uploaded a high resolution .jpg of the photo via the internet, ordered a 16×20, made payment, and had the canvas a week later. The clarity and quality are excellent.

Now how sweet is this lovely black and white of Darrin’s children?  He told us how pleased he was with the finished product.  “The service was great and you made sure it was delivered in time to give as a gift. You also sized it accordingly, so it was perfect.”  It is hard to go wrong, Darrin, when you have a snapshot as precious at this one!

I am always fascinated with the stories behind the canvases, and this one touched my heart.  Janet told us about her older daughter—in the midst of an important day—stopping to include her little sis.  “This is a photo of my girls.  The day was 100% humidity, and we were having our older daughter’s senior pictures taken.  She made sure her little sister was included. The canvas was so easy to order.

Maybe my next post will feature brothers, but today I had a great time writing about these wonderful images of sisters.  Mom

Canvases from Abroad

Tuesday, April 3rd, 2012

I just returned last night from a family vacation to Belize, Central America. It wasn’t your typical trip—we stayed in jungles and rainforests in order to visit shut-ins in their homes, teach in remote village schools, and deliver supplies to teachers who work hard with scarce resources.  So you readers won’t be surprised that I am particularly taken with folks today who have asked us to make canvases of their global adventures.

I will begin with an image that has not yet become a canvas.  This photo was taken by my daughter of the school children from a village called Duck Run 2 in the Cayo District of Belize.  The children were very excited that we were coming, so they made welcome signs to greet us.  This is a memory we will never forget!   It is often irresistible to pass up a canvas opportunity when you have an unforgettable moment captured with the snap of your camera like this one.

One of our customers, Natalie, also had such an image which she sent to us—a photo taken in Jodhpur, India. “I am thoroughly pleased with my experience with Canvas on Demand. They were so professional and helpful, keeping me informed the whole way. They even upgraded the size free of charge to make it look its best. I would definitely use them again.  I have recommended them to all my friends and family.”

Carrie Anne asked us to create a canvas from an image she captured in Africa. “I vacationed in Kenya, Tanzania, and Zanzibar. There were three photos that I especially liked, and I sent them to Canvas On Demand. The canvases that were sent to me were simply spectacular. The quality was beyond excellent and the service was timely. Even though I had chosen a particular size for my photos, a Canvas on Demand representative called and said that the photos would look better in a larger size. They said that they would upsize my photos at their cost. The service and quality of the product from Canvas on Demand was superlative.”

And a final  photo snapped on a global vacation is from Nancy. “We recently visited Japan. Before we left, we asked our son and his wife what they would like for us to bring them. They said that they wanted a print of cherry blossoms.  I am thrilled with the result. Not only is the finished photo wonderfully printed, it is also stretched so nicely onto the wooden frame. With all of the luggage restrictions, it would have been impossible to give our children a gift nearly this nice.”

Now there is another reason to order a canvas from Canvas on Demand. You don’t have to carry it on the plane!  So the next vacation–whether you are stateside or abroad–think CANVAS!  Mom

Little Water-logged Water Dogs!

Thursday, March 29th, 2012

One of the best things about warm weather heading our way, is that children can take to the water.

I happened to notice several great canvases of kids having water fun today and decide to showcase a few.  Patricia asked us to create a canvas of her son, Colman in Hawaii.  “We were swimming when a group of green sea turtles came along and started riding the waves with us. It was an unforgettable moment, and I was so happy to capture it on film.  I love Canvas on Demand. This was the third and best photo I had you guys transform into a beautiful piece of art. The photo was taken underwater, so the clarity was not the best.  But you worked your magic and as you can see, it is beautiful. I highly recommend Canvas on Demand! Excellent to work with and fast turn-around. Thank you.”   Thanks for a wonderful image and a great story, Patricia!

Kevin captured a wonderful image of a boy named Eddie who was catching a wave in Carpinteria.  Kevin told us, “The first picture we sent in wasn’t of good enough quality so your people called and suggested we not use it.  We sent another, and it turned out great. It’s now hanging over his bed. Great service.”   We want to exceed your expectations.  So pleased you are satisfied, Kevin.

Nick sent us this image of of a young man swimming frestyle in the 100 yard freestyle at Badger Aquatics Club in Madison, Wisconsin.  “The service was amazing. Excellent product and even better packaging…no way that canvas could have been damaged. Great care!”

If you like to see action on canvas, this next one is an amazing example.  Thanks for sharing it with us, Jen.  I love hearing the stories behind the canvases.  “On the last day of school, we took our daughter to the lake.  And managed to capture her sheer joy about the starting of summer—all in one jump!  We were thrilled with our purchase and love this great work of art.”

At Their Happiest!

Friday, March 23rd, 2012

So…I was having my hair cut yesterday, and the young stylist explained to me that she was working with hair in order to earn money for her college degree—a BA from Herron School of Art in photography.  She explained that she loved styling hair, but loved photography even more.  “I want to shoot weddings, because that’s when people are the happiest.”  Of course, I took that golden moment to tell her about Canvas on Demand!

Today as I perused some of the thousands of wedding canvases we make, the young woman’s words came to mind.  Could there be a happier image than this one taken of Joanne’s wedding party just moments before entering the church?  She was so pleased with her canvas that she posted a testimonial:  That was such a fun shot of us and our friends. I love everyone’s expressions! Canvas on Demand gave me super quick service and shipping. It looks great!  I loved how you guys emailed me to let me know that certain changes needed to be made in order for it to wrap around perfectly.”

Isn’t it wonderful when folks come up with a unique idea like this one of Caroline and her new hubby?  “It’s outside our family’s church where I’m sitting on my dad’s truck. I bought a coupon for Canvas On Demand, and hadn’t printed a single wedding picture so decided it was the perfect opportunity. The coupon was for a 16×20, but when I submitted my order, Canvas on Demand sent me an email back the same day saying they upgraded my order for free, because my image wouldn’t fit properly otherwise. I received my canvas in 4 days, and it looks amazing. It’s definitely better than I ever imagined.”

I especially enjoyed this next photo sent to us by a customer named Mary.  She looks so graceful releasing the doves on their beautiful wedding day. “My canvas is lovely and we are so happy with it.  Mary and Anthony.”

It would be appropriate to end with “Cinderella” and this canvas we created for her mother, Susan.  “I had a picture of my daughter and son-in-law’s wedding day carriage ride enlarged onto canvas to display in the entryway of their new home. I can’t wait to see their expression when they open their special gift.”

Congratulations to all these newly-weds.  Your canvases prove that my stylist was right; weddings are the happiest of times.  Mom

Hats Off to the Little Ones!

Saturday, March 17th, 2012

Someone decided to put a hat on the baby and say “smile”!  You’d be surprised at how many delightful baby-in-a-hat canvases we make!  And it’s no wonder we create so many.  Just look how cute these little ones are.

Elaine told us that her father wanted pictures taken of his great-granddaughter, Ele, in his field of sunflowers, so off they went.  “And daddy was right.  The photos were beautiful. I decided at the last minute to have a 20 x 20 canvas of little Ele made by “Canvas On Demand” for Daddy.  The service was prompt, courteous…and we were all very pleased. Mama and Daddy were both thrilled to open this present!”  Elaine, this canvas and that little great granddaughter must surely be your parents’ pride and joy!

Julieta sent us this image of The Little Bean at seven months.  I had the best experience at Canvas on Demand! Great customer service–quick, professional…and they can solve any picture problem. Very easy company to work with.  A++++++!  There should be more companies like Canvas on Demand!”  Now that is a grade that makes our staff very proud, Julieta!

Hats are not just for girls, and Andrew’s little son proves it.  “He is a new Cardinal fan,”  Andrew wrote.  And I bet his dad is a Cardinal fan too.

Little purple frills on the head of  this little girl would make anyone smile.  Amy tells us “it’s our sweet angel at 7 months old.”  She goes on to say, “We have ordered two 16 x 20 canvases and have been thrilled with the results. We can’t wait to have a whole hallway showcasing our baby girl!”  I love it when an entire room or hallway is filled with our canvases.  Please send me a photo of that huge showcase when it is finished, Amy.  I’d like to feature it on this site.
