It is the first family photo that we were able to take that included all of us. If you look closely, you may be able to see that I am wearing my uniform under the shirt – in some of them my pants show. About 20 minutes after this picture I kissed my girls goodbye and my wife and I left for Ft. Drum, so that she could drop me off for my flight. Between the dog and the baby, we had to take about 20 pictures to get a good one.

Here’s what Thomas had to say about Elizabeth…
She is a mother of 2, who is staying at home for our 4th deployment, the second with children. She is the rock that keeps our family together and sane. Between our constant moves (three since June 2008) and my deployments, I do not know how she can keep the family focused and supportive of me and my career. She has had to give up her career as a High School English teacher due to our constant moves and the realities of raising 2 children on her own, not to mention taking care of me, when I am home. her strength and attitude through all we do is my inspiration. While it is hard to deploy to combat, I can’t imagine how hard it must be to stay home, raise two kids, and worry about me the whole time.

So we took a drive – it was a cave he had found while hunting for turkey. It is special because he took me there and he always cares more about me and making me happy than he thinks of himself.

Here’s what John had to say about Phyna…
My husband has to be the most kindest, sweetest person you can meet. he is very shy and does not talk to much, at least to other people. He has always loved me for me even when I weighted 257lbs and loves me now that I weight 125, his love is so unconditional it is a wonder he did not marry before we meet.

Here’s what Reggie had to say about Martha…
I met Martha in my Psychology 1000 class as freshman at East Carolina University (GO PIRATES!) in Greenville, NC. I’d never been in love before, let alone took any girl seriously-I was a kid myself! We’ve been together almost 10 years and she has seen me through 2 deployments, lots of Army task trainings and pretty much seen me grow from a boy to a man.

We ended up going to the Outlet shops up there, ate some great food, blew through a lot of money, enjoyed the quiet, and had a great time just enjoying one another. One of the things that makes this photo special, is that it was snowing, which we just loved at the time, and this was one of the happiest times of our lives. We were two college kids, recently engaged, had no worries or responsibilities, and were looking forward to starting our lives together.

Here’s what Christopher had to say about Haley…
My wife is originally from all over NC, but spent most of her life growing up in Wilmington, NC. She is the most caring, genuine, down to earth girl I have ever met and she is the mother of our first son, Riley. She is currently a stay-at-home mom, raising our 15 month year old son virtually by herself, and putting up with the stresses that the Army places on families, separated by Deployment, all the time. She is a God-centered, strong, devoted, and loyal wife and mother.
