My son was born on Veteran’s Day this past year. I barely made it home for the birth. This is a picture of him and his Mother. We gave him the middle name Miles which means Soldier in Latin and represents the 7000 miles I had to travel to be there on the day he was born.

Sydnee is the greatest woman I know. She’s dedicated to being a Mother and gives so much of herself to ensure that her children have the very best. She is a hero in the truest sense of the word. She holds down the fort while I am gone and somehow does the work of 20, and does it well. If it were me at home and her deployed I know for sure I couldn’t do it. She has a mother-heart. She’s a fierce mother too, a force to be reckoned with at times. This picture is a reminder to our family of what holds us all together.
