This photo is one of our favorite photos that we have! It was taken during my 10 days leave after boot camp in the summer of 2007 in Idaho Falls, ID. You can tell we are just so happy to be with each other again.

I have one of the worlds most amazing wives! She has given up so much to be with me over the last 4 years. She works full-time, goes to school full-time, and does about everything else to keep our home together when I am gone.

This is a photo she finally got me to get taken with her. It was about a year after my first deployment.

Here’s what Stephen had to say about Tara…
I met my wife in the Army and my life with her has been nothing but great. We have two kids right now Brian and Katie she is also pregnant with the third, Stephen. This is the second pregnancy she has had to go through on her own due to me being deployed. I love her with all my heart and couldn’t think of a better person to be the mother of my kids.

“Hi Tom and Joe! Last year I purchased a canvas for my poor cleaning lady that has a son serving in Iraq. I want you to know that tears streamed down her face when she opened her 16 X 20 photo of her son in uniform preparing for war. He is now stationed in Iraq. My cleaning lady (whose husband has been unemployed) does not have a computer that she could even e-mail her son. I thought perhaps you could award him with a free canvas that he could send home to his parents. I don’t think you were having this promotion last year. Your company personally called and we really had to work making the photo (with a distracting background and with much cropping) into a masterpiece. I will give you his address in Iraq. By the way, are you having Christmas discounts or promotions this year? ”

Why are you crazy for canvas?

I have only ordered one canvas from Canvas on Demand. I had came across the website and decided to give it a try. My husband and I had just got married so I chose a really special picture of us on our honeymoon in Mexico. I uploaded the picture, decided what size I wanted, entered my info. and that was it! It was incredibly easy. So after 3 days I recieved my "box" I looked like a 5 yr. old child on Christmas morning I coulnd’t even wait for my husband to get home to open it! So I tore into the package and I was extremely satisfied! I now have the canvas hanging in my living room and I can’t begin to count how many of our friends and family love this piece of art. I tell each and every one of them where and how I did this. After receiving my canvas a few days later I received a email that told me my canvas had been placed on their website!! I was sooo excited that made me feel extra special that a website as large as Canvas on Demand wanted to put our canvas on there for others to enjoy!! About the organization:
We are a low-income school in the Dallas, TX area. Many of our parents work two or more jobs to make ends meet so bringing parents into school is a challenge. We work hard to provide basic needs as well as school supplies and an angel tree near the holidays. We have a math night coming up in a few weeks where we encourage families to come and have fun with their children doing math activities- our theme this year is Amazing Math Race! The $100 gift card would be a fabulous way for us to help fund this event for our families. We would like to auction the canvas print to our staff so that we can purchase some door prizes that support math and measurement as a family (ex. measuring cups and gingerbread cookie mix).

A time in which we able get all the kids together and go to the local park for pictures. This event was 1 week before I left for training before we deployed.

She’s a strong woman. This is her second deployment with me. She married me at my Unit I was deploying with last, by the unit Chaplin, just weeks before being deployed. She was also several months pregnant with our 1st child together, just a few years ago(2003-04).

Tony–A Remarkable Army Husband–Teaches Us All a Lesson
