I just returned last night from a family vacation to Belize, Central America. It wasn’t your typical trip—we stayed in jungles and rainforests in order to visit shut-ins in their homes, teach in remote village schools, and deliver supplies to teachers who work hard with scarce resources. So you readers won’t be surprised that I am particularly taken with folks today who have asked us to make canvases of their global adventures.
I will begin with an image that has not yet become a canvas. This photo was taken by my daughter of the school children from a village called Duck Run 2 in the Cayo District of Belize. The children were very excited that we were coming, so they made welcome signs to greet us. This is a memory we will never forget!
