Plan Now to Give the Best Father’s Day Gift!

Friday, May 17th, 2013

He didn’t tell me how to live; he lived, and let me watch him do it.
~ Clarence Budington Kelland

It isn’t too early to begin thinking about Father’s Day!  Start going through your favorite images or take some new photos so that you can create the perfect personalized gift.  When it comes to a canvas from Canvas on Demand, you can order it in ANY size to fit precisely where Dad would want to hang it.

Look at what Meghan did.  I can’t think of a gift for Dad that is more creative than the one she gave her husband.  “My kids did the artwork, and it’s a perfect Father’s Day gift. I got excellent service. My husband had given me a picture on canvas for Christmas, and it s so beautiful that I returned the favor with a Father’s Day gift for him. I can’t wait to see his face when he sees it– all 6′ of it– hanging on the wall.”

Six feet of his children’s art work.  What a gift!

fathers day, child's art

I had to smile when I saw this Daddy canvas.  The testimonial written by Joshua:  “Our precious twin girls, Janelle and Joleigh.  A real favorite photo of Dad and his girls.”

fathers day, twins

And don’t forget the other dads in your life—grandfathers and stepfathers and fathers-in-law and even great grandfathers.  Aaron asked us to make this special canvas.  “This is a picture of my son, at 3 months old, meeting his great grandfather for the first time in Boothbay Harbor, ME. This is his first great grandson. We are surprising him with this canvas.”

I can assure you, Aaron, that this canvas will be his pride and joy!  Thanks for sharing it with our readers.

So plan ahead now in order to honor Dad.  Have the kids draw a picture.  Dig though old photo files.  Get out your camera and take a picture like you’ve never done before…from a different angle or in a favorite place.  Then let us turn it into a canvas for him on Father’s Day.  Mom

Ryan–Canvas on Demand’s Irish Vagabond!

Wednesday, March 13th, 2013

There are two great things about Canvas on Demand:  Our customers and our staff.  In nearly all my posts, you hear about our amazing, creative, and inspiring customers. Today, I want to talk a bit about our staff.  They are dedicated, hardworking, loyal, and caring!  I say this in all sincerity.  I plan to give you a chance to meet a few of them in the next few weeks.

In this post, I want to introduce you to Ryan.  She has been the Customer Service Manager at Canvas On Demand for 5 ½ years.  She told me why she enjoys working here.  “I love working with an amazing customer service team that genuinely cares about our customers. We get to help people put memories onto canvas, and we turn their personal art into something that they can show off.  That is pretty amazing and empowering in my book!”

It seemed appropriate to put the spotlight on Ryan during mid-March, because recently she and her husband, Chris, took a 2-week trip to Ireland!  I asked her about her trip, and she said, “We went to Ireland in the fall of 2012 to celebrate my birthday and our wedding anniversary.   This trip has been a dream for as long as I can remember.  I’m at least a quarter Irish, and I have always felt a strong connection with the island and its culture.”

Ryan is an awesome photographer as you can see by the stunning canvases below.

The first one is of Giant’s Causeway at Carrick-a-rede Bridge in northern Ireland.  She told me that it was so windy that waterfalls were actually blowing upwards! ireland_Nireland

Regarding the next magnificent canvas, Ryan explains:  “Kilclooney Dolman is in county Donegal in northwest Ireland.  It is a portal tomb circa, 3500BC.”

Don’t you love this next canvas? I wish I could just put a blanket down in that pasture and spend the afternoon in the sun with a glass of wine and some Irish cheese!  Well…I might have to share some of it with the sheep!

The tour company that Ryan and her hubby used was Vagabond Tours.  Doesn’t this look like a fun bunch?  That canvas makes me want to travel with them.  Check them out at http://vagabondtoursofireland.ie/

Thanks, Ryan, for sharing your fabulous photography…and thanks for all the hard work you do for our customer at Canvas on Demand!  Mom

Too Precious for Words

Sunday, February 24th, 2013

To quote Wikipedia:

The expression “Use a picture. It’s worth a thousand words.” appeared in a 1911 newspaper article quoting newspaper editor Arthur Brisbane discussing journalism and publicity.  A similar phrase, “One Look Is Worth A Thousand Words”, appears in a 1913 newspaper advertisement for the Piqua Auto Supply House of Piqua, Ohio.

Okay, I know; I’m a writer.  There needs to be words in this blog.  But honestly!  I can hardly find words to describe some of the precious, precious baby canvases we make for customers.  So, please cut me a little slack on this post.  After all, a picture—well, in this case, a canvas—is worth a thousand words!

How can anyone explain the power in this canvas below?  Really! We created it for a customer named Alicia.  She says, “This is a picture of my husband and our 2-week-old son.  My heart melts every time I see it!”  My heart too, Alicia.  It is one of my all time favorites!

Jennifer took this picture of a friend’s baby.  “It is one of my absolute favorites!” she told us.  And we all understand why!

Erica sent us another indescribable image.   In her testimonial, she wrote.  “I absolutely LOVE this 16 x 24 canvas wrap! I gave it to a family member that just had a baby, and they are in AWE of how good it looks. Thanks so much for everything!!!”  When customers are so happy, Erica, it brings us great joy.

And finally, Rita was blown away by her canvas below.

I’ve been told that I am a woman of many words…but sometimes, those words are just very  hard to find.  Mom

Back to Basic Choices

Monday, November 26th, 2012

A couple of posts back, I discussed the many choices your have when ordering from Canvas on Demand.  We looked at gallery-wrapped vs. framed art pieces.  We also considered the differences between the photorealistic and pixelpainted options.

Today I want to let our readers know that there are even more choices.  Did you know, for example, that we offer free consultation and free image enhancements?  All you have to do is talk to one of our trained representatives by calling us toll-free or by using our website’s chat feature.  Our service reps are standing by to help you make all the right decisions.

And were you aware that Canvas on Demand offers a 100% money back guarantee!  That’s right.  Our goal is to EXCEED your expectations.

But there’s more.  Sometimes customers are surprised to learn that they can split their image into multiple canvases.  (Click her to learn more about this photo split option:  http://www.canvasondemand.com/options/canvas-photo-splits/

And we can also help you create a dynamic wall display in your home or office.  We have 16 different arrangements that you can choose from.

Babies–Head to Toe

Tuesday, October 23rd, 2012

Our readers may think I favor baby canvases in these posts…and well, they may be right.  I was fascinated today by baby heads and toes.  Really.   Just read on…

A customer named Ben sent us this sweet testimonial, saying: “I took this photo a week after our baby boy, Finn, was born…my wife and my wedding rings hung from his toes. The experience with Canvas on Demand has been great so far!  The quality is fantastic and showcases our wall!”

Next, I saw this canvas that Sally asked us to create for her.  “This is our new little grandson when he was only days old. He was born one month premature, and he fit perfectly in his dad’s hands. His little head and ‘swirl’ will be remembered always and the canvas treasured forever.  I ordered two…one for my daughter and one for us.  Your customer service has always gone above and beyond!”

Julie had a great idea for this next canvas. “I always submit true digital size images and the crew at Canvas on Demand makes sure my canvas looks identical to the original image and that nothing gets cropped.  I love the quality and clarity of my new canvas from Canvas on Demand. These guys get it right, every time… And they make ordering a breeze!”

Shondell sent us this precious black and white.  Toes again!  She said, “This picture was taken by two of my dearest friends who are aspiring photographers building their portfolios. The subject was my two-month-old son. After the mini photo shoot my husband and I where given all the photos of our darling-little-one to hand out to all the grandparents. It was difficult picking a favorite but this particular one stood out, and I just had to have it on canvas!  My husband on the other hand was very apprehensive about having it put on canvas. He was doubtful that the quality of the photo would hold up and that the once professional looking picture would look bad on canvas and pixilated. When the canvas arrived, the look on my husband’s face was priceless. I think I may have even seen a tear. He could hardly believe how amazing the canvas looked. The picture means so much to us both already and to have it on canvas just added a whole new dimension and meaning to it. We are extremely proud to have it up with the collection of our other art pieces. My only regret is that I didn’t get a larger canvas. I’ve already told my dear fiends that I would love to have more of their pictures on Canvas.  I was very happy with how quickly we received our canvas. The web site was easy to use in ordering and creating our very own custom made piece of art.”

Our staff understands how important it is for our customers get the product they are hoping to receive.  But our goal goes beyond that.  We are always aiming to exceed our customers’ expectations.  Thanks to all four of you who wrote to let us know how pleased you are with your canvases.  Your encouraging words, make all our efforts worthwhile!  Mom

When it Comes to Babies, Choose them All!

Thursday, October 18th, 2012

I can sit forever and look at canvas collages!  I’m fascinated with the many themes and styles and layouts our creative customers come up with. And especially when it comes to photos of babies, it is difficult to choose just one…so why not choose them all!

That’s what Linda did.  Her layout of “52 weeks and 52 babies” can be described as nothing short of outrageously fun!  And it seems from her testimonial that she was outrageously pleased.  That’s just the way we like it, Linda!

This is what Linda wrote…We are so delighted with the gallery-wrap canvases you did for us! It’s astonishing how much they enhance the appearance of the photographs, without in any way altering the colors or dramatic effects that were there to begin with!  It’s hard to go by them each time without once more stopping for a closer look! They seem to be paintings done by a wonderful artist, yet without brush strokes that can mar the clarity!  To top it all off, your customer service is superb; and we do not give that praise lightly. My image when sent to you was not perfect and your folks picked up on that and called immediately to let me know and you made it very easy to resend the image. If your goal was to make a customer for life, congratulations — you did it!  Thanks so much for sharing this testimonial with our readers, Linda.

Here is another baby collage sent to us by Sarah of her baby girl.  Black and white canvases can certainly be show-stoppers…and Sarah’s images are outstanding.

Then there’s this delightful collage sent to us by customer, Patty.  She explains the number one reason for deciding on a collage:  There were so many pictures to choose from, but these were our favorites! We couldn’t have been happier with the pictures, and now we have a beautiful canvas print to display in our house forever! I have ordered from Canvas on Demand before and would recommend their service to everyone that I know!

I’ve been in that same boat, Patty, unable to make a decision on just one shot.  I’ve often decided to put it all together just as you did.

So to all our readers who struggle with deciding which one to choose…the answer may be to choose them all!  Mom

As Easy as ONE, TWO, THREE!

Friday, June 22nd, 2012

At Canvas on Demand, we try to make it easy to decorate your space with beautiful canvas prints of the people who are special to you.   And what is more special than a baby?  Ordering your baby canvas online is as easy as one, two, three.

ONE—This first canvas is of one precious little Gift from God as his mother calls him.  “It is a picture of my two-week-old son, Zion.  He is sleeping like an angel and wrapped in a beautiful blue bow.  The service you gave me was excellent.  Your website had all the information needed and in lots of detail.  I can tell by other customer comments that many are as pleased as I am.”

TWO“This photo is of our twin daughters at 10.5 months. We shot it for a contest at work, and ended up loving it so much that we wanted to have a canvas made for the nursery. This is our second canvas from you, and we love it. Both times, we received excellent and prompt service. We plan to order more in the future.”

THREE—Our staff created this sweet photo of Cam, Jordan, and Keith from a photo that their mother, Denise, took right after their tubby.  She told us in her testimonial:  When I saw the website, I wasn’t so sure that the finished product was going to be as good you made it seem. Well in a way I was right. It was so much better than you claimed!!! I actually had this same photo enlarged (by another company) for my husband’s birthday last year, and it came out awful. I figured I would give you guys a shot, and I am so glad I did! The canvas came out beautiful! I almost cried when I saw it. Thank you so much for doing a great job.

It gives us great joy to hear such wonderful remarks from our customers.  Thanks to these three who agree that the process is as easy as ONE, TWO, THREE!  Mom

A Special Effect

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

Question from Carilyn:  I have a picture of a baby and would like to get a canvas made of it.  Is there anyway I could get it in black and white but keep the hat in color? I have seen this done in other pictures but do not know how to do it. Thanks!

Answer from Tom:  Carilyn, thanks for the great question about that special effect.  We would love to take a look at your photo and talk to you about your idea, because it certainly is possible.  Our goal is to produce what you want.  We have a great team that works with those sorts of special effects.  You can click on live chat on our website or call our toll free customer service line, and we will answer all your questions.

Hang a Bundle on Your Wall

Thursday, July 8th, 2010

What can you do with that brand new little bundle of joy?  You can hold it, rock it, giggle at it, change its diaper…or you can show it off by hanging it on the wall!  That’s what Larissa, Samantha, and Patricia have done.  Send Mom a note about the little bundle hanging on your wall.

We had one of our son’s newborn photos put on canvas for our bedroom, and it came out remarkable!  The service was impressive! My photo didn’t fit on the specifications that I ordered, so they contacted me to let me know that they would be customizing my canvas at no additional charge! The end result was phenomenal and looks fantastic in our bedroom.  Larissa from Avondale, Arizona

This is a picture of our second son Logan at 2 weeks old. We already have one like this of our first son Xavier, and see how much they look alike.  It’s amazing.  The Canvas on Demand team worked with me to get the best picture.  We have had six canvases made and all are remarkable.  The service and shipping is outstanding. Samantha from Norman, Oklahoma

This photo on canvas is of our daughter Olivia, dressed up in her 1st Cav gear to support Daddy while he is deployed. Canvas on Demand did a FABULOUS job. The delivery time was actually sooner than expected, and it came packed snug and secure and was in perfect condition. The print is perfect, the canvas is pulled taut with no imperfections. In fact, the customer service we received from them was SUPERIOR. They went above and beyond helping my husband find the right photo that would fit the canvas size perfectly and one that would provide a flawless finish. Kudos!  Patricia from Ft. Hood, Texas

It’s Almost March, Baby!

Tuesday, May 21st, 2013

I am looking forward to March.  At 7:02 am on March 20th of this year, days and nights will be equal, marking the long-awaited beginning of SPRING!  For those of us in cooler climates, that means an exodus out-of-doors again.  Gardens, wildflowers, increased sunlight, and warmer temperatures.

Soon we can look forward to St. Patrick’s Day parades and Easter egg hunts.  And, of course, there are a few more obscure celebrations like the Ides of March (when Brutus killed Caesar), National Reading Day, Save a Spider Day, and World Kidney Day.   InMarch, some will be ordering from seed catlalogues and others getting out fishing poles…but our Canvas on Demand customers, will likely reach for their cameras!

So come on, baby, let’s anticipate March with these floral canvases that show off some of my very favorite cuties!

And let’s just start right off with the daffodil, which is the official flower for the month of March!  Philip sent us this amazing image of his 12-month-old twins sitting on a bench in the park by the lake, surrounded by daffodils.  Now that’s spring, baby!

Tamara’s photo made a fabulous canvas.  “This was taken of my daughter, Audrey, in March enjoying the beautiful Texas Bluebonnets.”

Elaine explained that her father wanted some photos of his great-granddaughter in his sunflower field.  “So, my sister and I got Ele and Daddy… and off to the sunflowers we went! Daddy was right, the canvas is beautiful!”

Michael loves his canvas! “My newborn, Avery, did a newborn session with a wonderful photographer when she was only 12 days old. The photography is stunning, and my 24 X 36 canvas is the most perfect commemorative example of that session we could have imagined! Beautiful!”

Are you inspired now to snap a few March babies of your own?  I hope so.  Mom
