Less Than Three Weeks of Shopping Left

Sunday, December 4th, 2011

There are less than three weeks of shopping left!  If you are anything like me, I avoid big shopping malls and massive crowds as much as possible.  More and more people like me are shopping online, leaving extra time for the things that are really important during the holidays—things like family and friends and celebrations!

A personal art canvas makes the perfect gift…and often becomes a family heirloom passed down generation to generation.  (Yes, they are made to last!)  It only takes a few minutes to place an order online, or you can always call our great customer service hotline.  Our team is waiting and ready to serve you.  So with the holidays in mind, I want to share some great orders we filled for some of our customers.

Carol asked us to create this holiday canvas for her.  “Our children and grandchildren came to spend their first white Christmas in the Chicago area. The photo is of them and our two dogs Indy and Taffy in the quaint village of Long Grove.  Canvas on Demand is by far the best photo type program I have ever worked with. The end product is beautiful and if there is any question at all I was called. It has been the most positive experience, and a perfect end result!”  Thanks for those kind words, Carol.  I once lived in the Chicago area and have fond memories of Long Grove too.

White Christmas

What a wonderful traditional image William chose for this canvas of his three children.  He told us that these are “his beautiful children photographed professionally by Shutter Love Studio of Perrysburg, Ohio.  My experience with Canvas on Demand was excellent.  It was easy to order and the product is beautiful and of great quality.”

William's Beautiful Kids in Front of the Tree

A canvas hanging in your home can bring back the most treasured memories each time you look at it.  Our customer, Janice, loved that her family had come home for the holidays!   ”The service and product quality was excellent! Thank you so much for taking our precious photo and turning it into a piece of wall art.”

Home for the Holidays!

And look at this next one:  If it isn’t the jolly ofd guy himself!  Yes, we sometimes make canvases for the rich and famous!  Alfred told us that:  “The photo was taken at the Rein Deer Ranch in Waxahachie Texas at a meeting of the Lone Star Santas. The Santa in the photo is Patrick of Irving Texas. Canvas on Demand was a great help on deciding on the color for the edge, since the photo could not be a rap around. I could not be happier with the excellent work Canvas On Demand did. I will use them again and tell my friends of the great work they do.”

Now here's a familiar face...

Happy holidays from all of us at Canvas on Demand.  We encourage you to keep the most important things and people in your lives at the top of your list this year!  Mom

Autumn Leaves. Canvases Don’t.

Saturday, November 19th, 2011

I just took a long drive from the Midwest through Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.  The lovely autumn colors that had fallen from the trees up north were still brilliant the farther south I went.  So I suppose that is why I was thinking FALL as I prepared to write this article.

For example, Heather asked us to create a canvas from a precious photo of a little boy named Tucker who was pheasant hunting.  She told us that she “had originally sent in another photo to Canvas on Demand.  But they contacted me immediately that they were not 100% with the quality of the picture and asked if I had another version or a different picture.  It turned out beautiful!”

Another customer, Cathy, placed an order and wrote this testimonial:  “I am a professional photographer and needed a sample to show my customers. This photo is of my granddaughter. My customers are raving about the quality of the photo on canvas. I am very pleased. Canvas on Demand is #1 on my list. Your consultants were very professional and called me about the resolution on two of the photos that needed to be changed. That made all the difference in the finished product. Thanks to a great team, Canvas on Demand!”

And finally, Bonnie asked us to make a canvas from a photo of her son’s first visit to his grandparent’s house in Iowa.  “He was in awe of the piles of leaves everywhere!  I love, love, love Canvas on Demand and couldn’t be happier with the canvases I’ve ordered.”

So I see there are at lease two ways to hang onto autumn a little bit longer.  You can take a long drive sourth…or you can have an art canvas made of your favorite fall photo.  Mom

Denise’s Main Points

Monday, November 14th, 2011

One of our Canvas Crazies (folks who register online with us because they are crazy about our products) recently told me they were fascinated with our Customer Showcase because when visiting it the other day they began to connect some of the canvases into a collection of sorts in their imagination.  So they actually copied a few images and forwarded them to me.  They called this little collection Mane Points.  I want to share it with our readers.

We will begin with a canvas we made for Carla who told us:  This is my favorite photo of all time. I was out riding my horse Cheyenne, and we were crossing the creek on our ranch. Cheyenne stopped to look around and to get a drink of water, and I saw the magic that was in view. I feel so lucky to have gotten this shot and when I look at this picture.  And you folks at Canvas on Demand were so helpful.  I received my picture in a timely manner and there was absolutely no damage from being shipped! Thank you.”

Mane Point #1

The next Mane Point of this article is in regard to a canvas we created of an alpaca named Gandolf for Kelly. “He is one of our amazing little boy alpacas and he has so much fleece on his face and legs! He is a beauty!  My husband is a photoshop geek and did some fun manipulation to give this photo some interesting layers.  We absolutely LOVE, LOVE, LOVE our canvas!! We would tell others to order with complete and utter confidence. These folks do a wonderful job! We will definitely be ordering from them again!”

Mane Point #2

Jeanine sent us an image—another Mane Point—that I have shared with many friends.  She said that Rupert is such a ham when he plays in the snow. He loves the camera and the camera clearly loves him too!”

Mane Point #3

When I received this collection from the Canvas Crazy, I was delighted by the next image that struck her fancy.  Well, it’s a Mane Point for sure too!  Customer Nicole’s son “was caught on camera just waking up with the morning light was coming in.  He is looking out onto the balcony.”  What a handsome young man, Nicole.  I am sure this will be a family favorite for many years to come!

Main Point #4

And thanks to Denise for sharing her Mane Points collection with us and our readers.  What do the rest of you see a collection when you visit our showcase.  If you do, please let me know.  Mom

What Do You Call It? We Call It Nostalgia!

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

With the holidays right around the corner, our thoughts turn to family.  Jane Howard said, “Call it a clan, call it a tribe, call it a family.  Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one…”

If you are trying to come up with the perfect gift idea, why not give the gift of nostalgia?  Just look at the amazing heirloom quality of these canvases.  Now these are gifts that never stop giving!

The canvas we made for Connie is of her parents’ wedding.  It was taken in 1949.  The photo is a close-up wedding portrait of my parents.  It was a colorized black and white and not very good quality.  But Canvas on Demand more than exceeded my expectations. When they determined it could not be worked on as a large canvas like I had ordered, they contacted me, and we discussed options. The final product was a spectacular 8×10 in a perfect frame. I am so happy, I am ordering three more.“

Wedding Memories

Paulette was equally happy with her canvas.  She told us: “This is a high school graduation photo of my grandmother Leone dating back to 1908. This is an incredible image, and one I will cherish forever.  I cannot stress enough the perfection in customer service and restoration to final product rendered. I have already recommended this site to many friends. The finished product is absolutely beautiful.”

High School Memories

Now here is a gift that Elissa gave to her father for Christmas, and I’ll bet it’s one of his most treasured possessions!  “The photo is of my great x 4 grandfather, a Union officer in the Civil War with all officers. The service was excellent! The photo was in very bad condition and the restoration was amazing! I can’t wait to give the canvas to my father for Christmas!”

Patriotic Memories

And finally, I love the canvas that Sulaisman had us make for him.  It’s all about community leadership.  “Yes leadership.  A very important black and white portrait of leadership in my community with family members in there too.  I requested someone to call me to assist with actual dimension of frame depending on picture quality. A person called me and spent the time needed to explain which dimensions would look nice and kept assuring me that the canvas would be beautiful. I added touch up service level one and was pleased.”

Leadership Memories

How can there be any doubt about the perfect holiday family gift?  Now is the time to start digging out the treasures, making decisions, and placing your orders.  You won’t be disappointed when you give a bit of nostalgis to family loved ones!  Mom

Not Always People

Thursday, October 6th, 2011

The subjects of many images that we turn into canvas art are people, but it is fascinating to see some of the other objects that capture the eyes of our photographers.  Kelly’s photo of a vintage Learjet is a perfect example.  Kelly was delighted with her finished canvas.  “We absolutely LOVED ordering through Canvas on Demand. We received our order quickly, and it was exactly what we wanted. Thank you SO much!”

Vintage Learjet

What a surreal image Richard captured of this table for two left behind in an abandoned Catskill, New York resort.  He told us in his testimonial that he will never use anyone else for his canvas needs.  Thanks for that wonderful compliment, Richard!   Your final product is stunning and testifies to the power of shadows and lighting in this one-of-a-kind art canvas.

Table for Two?

Customer Phil told us about his photo:  “This is a still life of four violins and a music book. The category that best fits this image is “Vintage” although it was only taken several months ago. It was shot using available light in a violin shop and post-processed in a light room to simulate a painting.”   Wonderful, Phil!  And the frame sets this awesome image off too.

Violins

Another of my favorites is this singular and moving symbol–an old filament lightbulb sent to us by Kelly.  That is a lovely canvas, Kelly.  I love how this is so very much open to interpretation.  What does it say to you?

What does it say to you?

A stool in a long, lonely prison hallway stirs emotion.  Jim explains.  ”This is a stool at Eastern State Penitentiary in Philadelphia. The shot was taken during a special behind the scenes tour last year. The stools were made by the inmates and are throughout the long abandoned buildings.   Canvas On Demand’s quality, color matching, and ability to work with me make them my first choice when I want an image presented in a different, striking fashion.”

Thanks to the photographers featured in this article.  They remind us to keep a watchful and artistic eye open for subjects that are both different and powerful!  Mom

So Small…But All Grown Up!

Wednesday, October 5th, 2011

This post is about some wonderful images that we made into canvases for our customers.  I call it All Grown Up!  Christina sent us this photo of “Elijah’s 18-month pictures taken by Holy Torres.”  They call it Applebee’s Face.  I think it looks like Elijah is headed to the golf course for a few rounds with his clients.

All Grown Up

Diane’s canvas is one of my all time favorites.  I titled it Girl Talk.  She told us: “These are our twin granddaughters at 9 months old. I thought the picture was timeless and had this done for our daughter’s First Mothers Day.  I had one made for us too.   We all love it! Both my husband and I work at schools, and we took it to our schools to show and got many compliments on it!  Working with Canvas on Demand was easy. I placed our order on a Wednesday, and the following Tuesday the pictures were at our door. We ordered this in a 20×24, but you advised that we change the size to 20×30…and you did it at no extra charge! Buy one, get one half off is also a great deal. Thank you, thank you. We will do this again.

Girl Talk

Banazer asked us to make this photo into a canvas.  “It was taken at Xara’s first birthday party and we love it.  My husband plays the keyboard, and Xara shows immense interest in it too.  We can’t wait to hear her play some real music someday.  You offer the best customer service.  I am in love with you!”

Do You Take Requests?

What amazing creativity you have each shown in finding those rare moments when the little ones seem SO grown up.  Thanks for sharing your comments with our readers.  Mom

Double Fun

Thursday, September 15th, 2011

If one is good then two must be better.  Some pet owners know how to double their fun and these canvases that the folks at Canvas on Demand recently created prove it.

For example, this photo taken by Terry is of her two dogs, Moxie and Liberty, while they were visiting Monson Village in New Hampshire.  The dogs are proudly wearing their blaze orange vests because it’s hunting season.  Terry told us that this canvas “was given to us as a present from our very good friends and neighbors.  It is one of the best presents we’ve ever received.”

Then Carol made me smile when I saw this precious canvas of her two little Westies.  “Our Boys, as we refer to them, were sitting on a wicker chair on our sun porch. It is their favorite place to catch the rays.  The service was excellent, superb with a great turn-a-round time.  And the quality is excellent!”

Daniel asked us to make a canvas of his two yellow labs.  He wrote to say: I WISH I COULD HAVE TAKEN A VIDEO OF MY WIFE’S REACTION WHEN SHE SAW THE CANVAS. I TOLD HER FOR A WEEK THAT I WAS GETTING SOMETHING FROM THE N.Y. YANKEES THAT I HAD WANTED FOR A LONG TIME. WHEN IT ARRIVED, I TOLD HER TO CHECK IT OUT FOR ME TO SEE IF IT HAD ANY DAMAGE. WHEN SHE OPENED IT, SHE COULD NOT SPEAK! YOU HAVE DONE A TREMENDOUS JOB OF TAKING AN ONLINE PHOTO AND MAKING IT INTO A WORK OF ART. THE FRAME TOO IS WITHOUT ANY QUESTION A GREAT ADDITION. THE ONLY THING I CAN SAY IS THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAD A PART IN THIS. MY WIFE TOOK THE CANVAS TO WORK AND NOW SHE HAS PEOPLE THAT COME INTO HER OFFICE WANTING TO KNOW MORE ABOUT YOUR COMPANY.  AGAIN THANKS TO ALL!  DANIEL”.

Lauri sent us her photo and said, “Meet my babies, Madden and Molly.  They are the sweetest pups ever and are the best of friends!  This Canvas came very fast and it is amazing! A true piece of art! Everyone that sees it is very impressed! Thanks!”

These Canvas on Demand customers know how to double their puppy pleasure and their fun.  I bet there will be others who grab their cameras and start taking some great pet photos because they were inspired by these outstanding canvases!  Thanks for sharing the testimonials with us.  Mom

Dreaming of Cooler Days

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011

It’s been a record hot summer in the Midwest and as I write this in early September, it is 101 degrees and I am wilting!  The oven-like temperatures make me dream of cooler days just around the corner.  So for others sweltering in the late summer heat, here’s a reminder of those crisp days of autumn that are just around the corner.

Don’t you love this amazing canvas we made for Ruth from her photo of the Glade Creek Grist Mill in Babcock State Park, WV?  She called it a magical place and judging from this October image, I can understand why.  She went on to say?  “This was my first order from Canvas on Demand. I was quite impressed by the process and final delivery of my print. When I opened the well-packed box to see my print, the first thought by both my husband and I was WOW, the colors are amazing, as were the details from my then Nikon D70 6mpx camera. I also was impressed with how you braced it in the center and at all 4 corners for better support of the 24×36.  I had the same sized print done on canvas of the same image for a customer by another company over a year ago before I found out about COD. I must say, I was more impressed with COD than I was the other company that I had only used once. Your contrast in colors was so much better as was the mounting on stretcher bars.  COD is now my place to go for all my canvas needs :) Thank you Canvas on Demand!”

Autumn Mill

Now here’s another lovely promise of cooler weather.  Micky’s fall photo of lovely Aspens was taken in Breckenridge, Colorado in September of last year. “As many times as I have visited Colorado, I had never been there when the Aspens were in full fall color until now! Beautiful!!  I found out about Canvas On Demand by way of a Groupon that I took advantage of. Ordering was easy and my print came within two weeks!”

Aspens!

There is nothing like a lovely sunrise to show off a spectacular autumn day.  Soundra’s image was captured early one late November morning.  “It was the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We bundled up and went out to wait for the sunrise. I knew when I saw this image that I wanted it on canvas to hang in my house. It turned out exactly as I had envisioned it and now hangs in my living room as a reminder of that beautiful sky. This was our 4th experience with Canvas on Demand. You always do such beautiful work and contact us as soon as it is ready to come home. I know I will use them again–I already have some images picked out!”

Fall Sunrise

Mary told us about this next canvas of her home set amid stunning fall colors: “This is a fall foliage photo of the house we built on a large pond where all 4 of our children grew up. I submitted a panoramic picture for enlargement and was astounded when a Canvas On Demand representative called me to suggest a smaller, less expensive blow up to maintain the quality of the original photo. They saved me $100 and delivered a beautiful enlargement. Even the back of the picture was beautifully done. Very professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to order again.”

Home by the Woods

So don’t grow too weary of the heat.  Cooler days are ahead.  And get the camera ready to capture the next change in seasons.  You may soon end up with those fall colors hanging on your wall in the form of a canvas from Canvas on Demand.  Mom

Avocado Smiles and More

Sunday, August 28th, 2011

When snapping a shot, we often say: “Smile for the camera.”  And lately I’ve noticed some rather out of the ordinary smiles.  I’ll begin with a sweet vintage image we turned to canvas for one of our customers.  She told us: “This picture was taken 40 years ago of my three little daughters laughing.  It is a happiness picture, and it had been lost for 20 years. I looked in the back of an old scrapbook and there it was. Forty years was not too long to wait for you to make it into a beautiful canvas that will be a keepsake!  I love the canvas and will soon order two more for my other two daughters’ birthdays. Your service was excellent; every email I sent with a question was immediately answered. I can’t wait to give this canvas as a present, I am so excited.”

Vintage Smiles

Another delightful canvas was one we made for a customer named Tasha.   I call it A Sweet Pink Smile.  Tasha explained: “This is one of our favorite photos of our daughter laughing at age 3 months. I ordered a canvas as a gift for my husband, and he loved it.  The service was outstanding, and the canvas is absolutely beautiful!”

A Sweet Pink Smile

I laughed at the energy in this next canvas taken in Key West by Sara.  “This photo was taken with a point and shoot camera. I was not expecting it to turn out so clear!  I am even more happy with my Canvas. Thanks!”

Jump for the Camera!

I can assure you that if I had just jumped out of a plane, I would not be capable of smiling for the camera as Nick did on his 26th birthday!  Way to go, Nick!

Happy Birthday, Nick!

And I’ll end with my favorite smile on the lovely little face of Ellen, the daughter of Robin who simply told us that it was hot out and Ellen was ready to eat some avocadoes!

Now ask someone you love to “Smile for the camera!”  Mom

Tootsies!

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

I am fascinated at the subject matter that our customers photograph.   They find beauty in some uncommon places…like feet!  What is there about the precious little feet of a newborn that makes us smile?

Shana asked us to make a canvas of her infant daughter putting her toes in her mouth.  “I didn’t use pacifiers so she had to make do with her little toe!”  And what a wonderful canvas that the family will enjoy for years to come!  Shana went on to say that “my canvas was shipped out in a couple of days and looked lovely.”

Who needs a pacifier?!

Then there was this image we turned to canvas for Cybil.  She told us:  “The photo I put onto canvas was that of my new baby niece’s toes. I wanted to give it to the proud parents as a gift. When I opened the package, all I could say was Wow! The canvas looked beautiful. I showed it to everyone. Thank you.”

Little toes

This next canvas of baby toes is one of my favorites. We received this testimonial:  “Love fulfilled is expressed in this very tender image. I titled this, Love Full Circle.  It shows how the parents treasure each other and their newborn. And I want to add that Canvas on Demand delivers what they promise!” Thanks for sharing this with our readers.  How creative .

A symbol of family

And the last one for today’s post is of a daddy’s hands holding up the toes of his 8-month-old son.  It hangs on the wall at the foot of the parents’ bed and is a stunning reminder of how special that time was for them. “We LOVE our canvas and had a great experience ordering it. The picture we chose was not the right size for the canvas we ordered, so a REAL person e-mailed and told us they would fix it free of charge. We got a slightly bigger canvas for the price of a smaller one, and were able to talk to an actual human being.  Thanks.”

Daddy and baby

Thanks to all of these customers who sent in testimonials.  You have reminded us of all the amazing promise in baby toes…and you have inspired us to be creative!  Mom
