Soft, Sweet, and Newborn

Friday, March 1st, 2013

There is nothing that says “softness” like a newborn baby!  These canvases speak for themselves.  I think you’ll understand after appreciating them, how much fun my job here at Canvas on Demand can be!

One of our customers, Michelle, asked us to create this precious canvas of her first granddaughter who arrived after four grandsons!  It’s no wonder that Michelle wanted this feminine photo turned into an heirloom piece of art.  She told us:  “My first granddaughter!  She won’t be spoiled one bit! Right!”

Another customer, Rachel, in her online testimonial, said, “I was snapping these for my little girl’s first birthday party invitations.”  And of course, a baby, a camera, and a little sweetness always equals a great canvas!

Lauren explained:  “I am a portrait photographer, and this photo was taken in my studio. This baby was 2 weeks old and such a good baby to photograph.”  Lauren, we are sure your clients were very satisfied with this final product!

Another photographer, out of Georgia, really captured softness in her image!  Her name is Kathleen, and her photo was so unique with that brown prop.  “This sweet love child stole my heart during our photo shot!”  She went on to say, “Her Mamma’s gonna squeal when she gets her Canvas! It is just BEAUTIFUL!”

For a canvas that will make you squeal, simply grab your camera and a newborn.  End of lesson.  Mom

When the Frost is on the Pumpkin

Sunday, October 7th, 2012

I was raised and educated in Indiana, so I was introduced at a very young age to the Hoosier Poet, James Whitcomb Riley.  He was the author of several famous children’s poems like Little Orphan Annie and the Raggedy Man.  But one of my favorites was not directed toward children—When the Frost is on the Pumpkin

As soon as the leaves begin to turn brilliant and the Midwest morning air greets me with a sharp bite, I think of the words that begin that epic poem: When the frost is on the pumpkin and the fodders in the shock.  It’s only the first week of October, and I’ve already decorated my yard with pumpkins and gourds and mums.  So it’s no surprise that the wonderful autumn canvases are catching my eyes.

I smiled at this image sent to us from a customer named Rebecca.  She explained it.  “This is Max in the pumpkin patch at Andrew’s Scenic Acres outside Toronto. It was a present for his father…and his eyes welled up when he saw it.  The service was so fast, courteous and easy. The image on canvas are stunning. The customer service is amazing, and the product is excellent. I’ll be buying more.”

This next canvas that we made for Mark stopped me in my tracks.  Autumn colors with snow capped mountains in the background!  Now that’s not something I see in the Midwest.  He snapped it one October day with an average 35mm camera. “The larger mountain in the shot is Mt. Moran and this area is called Oxbow Bend. It’s an amazingly beautiful area.  The folks at Canvas on Demand were very helpful and answered all my many questions. I wasn’t sure how a regular 4×6 photo would translate to a larger canvas, but it turned out awesome! I was very pleased!”  It’s a great photo, Mark, and we are thrilled that you are pleased.  That’s our goal!

Sherri’s picture of fall aspens in Colorado is another spectacular example of an October shot turned to canvas.  “These are some of the gorgeous fall aspen trees in Colorado.  I am extremely impressed with Canvas on Demand. Your rep called me upon receipt of my order to make recommendations, and when I received the final product it looks like an oil painting! Colors are vibrant, and quality is excellent. I’m a new photographer and will absolutely send all my photos to Canvas on Demand in the future.”

This next one is such a sweet canvas!  We created it for Cathy.  She wrote in her testimonial: I am a professional photographer and needed a sample to show my customers. This photo is of my granddaughter. My customers are raving about the quality of the photo on canvas. I am very pleased.  Canvas on Demand is #1 on my list. The consultants were very professional and called me about the resolution on two of the photos.  We made some changes that made all the difference in the finished product. Thanks to your great team!”   And our great team is thankful for customers like you!

And in closing, I will simply say…I hope this year, you receive all treats and no tricks.  Mom

Thanks, Lori, for the cute little trick-or-treaters below!

Autumn Leaves. Canvases Don’t.

Saturday, November 19th, 2011

I just took a long drive from the Midwest through Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia.  The lovely autumn colors that had fallen from the trees up north were still brilliant the farther south I went.  So I suppose that is why I was thinking FALL as I prepared to write this article.

For example, Heather asked us to create a canvas from a precious photo of a little boy named Tucker who was pheasant hunting.  She told us that she “had originally sent in another photo to Canvas on Demand.  But they contacted me immediately that they were not 100% with the quality of the picture and asked if I had another version or a different picture.  It turned out beautiful!”

Another customer, Cathy, placed an order and wrote this testimonial:  “I am a professional photographer and needed a sample to show my customers. This photo is of my granddaughter. My customers are raving about the quality of the photo on canvas. I am very pleased. Canvas on Demand is #1 on my list. Your consultants were very professional and called me about the resolution on two of the photos that needed to be changed. That made all the difference in the finished product. Thanks to a great team, Canvas on Demand!”

And finally, Bonnie asked us to make a canvas from a photo of her son’s first visit to his grandparent’s house in Iowa.  “He was in awe of the piles of leaves everywhere!  I love, love, love Canvas on Demand and couldn’t be happier with the canvases I’ve ordered.”

So I see there are at lease two ways to hang onto autumn a little bit longer.  You can take a long drive sourth…or you can have an art canvas made of your favorite fall photo.  Mom

Dreaming of Cooler Days

Saturday, September 3rd, 2011

It’s been a record hot summer in the Midwest and as I write this in early September, it is 101 degrees and I am wilting!  The oven-like temperatures make me dream of cooler days just around the corner.  So for others sweltering in the late summer heat, here’s a reminder of those crisp days of autumn that are just around the corner.

Don’t you love this amazing canvas we made for Ruth from her photo of the Glade Creek Grist Mill in Babcock State Park, WV?  She called it a magical place and judging from this October image, I can understand why.  She went on to say?  “This was my first order from Canvas on Demand. I was quite impressed by the process and final delivery of my print. When I opened the well-packed box to see my print, the first thought by both my husband and I was WOW, the colors are amazing, as were the details from my then Nikon D70 6mpx camera. I also was impressed with how you braced it in the center and at all 4 corners for better support of the 24×36.  I had the same sized print done on canvas of the same image for a customer by another company over a year ago before I found out about COD. I must say, I was more impressed with COD than I was the other company that I had only used once. Your contrast in colors was so much better as was the mounting on stretcher bars.  COD is now my place to go for all my canvas needs :) Thank you Canvas on Demand!”

Autumn Mill

Now here’s another lovely promise of cooler weather.  Micky’s fall photo of lovely Aspens was taken in Breckenridge, Colorado in September of last year. “As many times as I have visited Colorado, I had never been there when the Aspens were in full fall color until now! Beautiful!!  I found out about Canvas On Demand by way of a Groupon that I took advantage of. Ordering was easy and my print came within two weeks!”

Aspens!

There is nothing like a lovely sunrise to show off a spectacular autumn day.  Soundra’s image was captured early one late November morning.  “It was the Sunday after Thanksgiving. We bundled up and went out to wait for the sunrise. I knew when I saw this image that I wanted it on canvas to hang in my house. It turned out exactly as I had envisioned it and now hangs in my living room as a reminder of that beautiful sky. This was our 4th experience with Canvas on Demand. You always do such beautiful work and contact us as soon as it is ready to come home. I know I will use them again–I already have some images picked out!”

Fall Sunrise

Mary told us about this next canvas of her home set amid stunning fall colors: “This is a fall foliage photo of the house we built on a large pond where all 4 of our children grew up. I submitted a panoramic picture for enlargement and was astounded when a Canvas On Demand representative called me to suggest a smaller, less expensive blow up to maintain the quality of the original photo. They saved me $100 and delivered a beautiful enlargement. Even the back of the picture was beautifully done. Very professional. I wouldn’t hesitate to order again.”

Home by the Woods

So don’t grow too weary of the heat.  Cooler days are ahead.  And get the camera ready to capture the next change in seasons.  You may soon end up with those fall colors hanging on your wall in the form of a canvas from Canvas on Demand.  Mom

Delicious Autumn!

Thursday, September 16th, 2010

It was George Eliot who said:  Delicious autumn! My very soul is wedded to it, and if I were a bird I would fly about the earth seeking the successive autumns.

I have been traveling a bit this summer, and I seemed to roast everywhere I landed.  Even as far north as Wisconsin, the heat index reached 108 degrees!  That sort of weather drains my energy and makes me feel as though I am walking each day through a huge vat of molasses.  But now that some cooler weather is coming our way, I find I relish in it.  I am enjoying the lovely fall colors in the Midwest where I live, walking the nearby trails, and riding my bike again.

And what a great time of year to capture the colors!  I love those images of children jumping in piles of leaves and pumpkins and shocks of fodder on the front porch.  So get out your camera and snap away!  If you have a photo you especially love, just email it to me at mom@canvasondemand.com, and I may share it on this blog.  Here are a couple we’ve received already from customers Barbara and Kris.

Barbara from Powers, Michigan:  “This photo was taken in a hardwood forest my family owns. We spend many fond weekends at our camp with family and friends and this was snapped on one of our excursions in the woods. This canvas will be treasured by me forever! And the service was awesome, excellent, and the quality was unbelievable–fast and friendly!”

Kris and her husband were enjoying a relaxing weekend at her parents’ cottage in Upper Michigan, when she decided to capture some lovely fall colors.  “I was struck by the beauty of the light coming through the trees. I felt like I was in the enchanted forest; it was magical. I had to have a canvas created of it. Thanks for the exceptional work.  I appreciate your honesty, personalized service, and speedy turnaround time. And the quality is extraordinary! You’ve made a lifelong customer out of me.  I highly recommend Canvas on Demand to everyone.”
