In Loving Memory

Tuesday, May 1st, 2012

How meaningful it is to all of us at Canvas on Demand when we are asked to create a canvas as a memorial for a customer’s loved one.

Helen’s idea is so unique and sensitive. Her daughter had a tough pregnancy and gave birth to a premature baby she later lost. So Helen beautifully compiled postings from Facebook to remind her daughter of the journey she had taken over that year. We turned it to a lovely canvas for her. “It was her favorite gift,” Helen told us. How comforting this reminder must be for her. She is blessed to have such a thoughtful and loving mother!

Tracy also has a canvas that serves as a reminder: “It is of the last family vacation before I lost my Dad. Every time I look at this canvas, I will always remember that his wish to do this trip came true. You guys are great!” I loved reading this story, Tracy! What a wonderful memory. you have created. When we asked Tracy about her experience with Canvas on Demand, she replied, “I have 11 of them, need I say more?? Love it!!”

D P explained that his canvas is created from an image at Arlington National Cemetery of his grandfather’s marker with an American flag. “My grandfather passed away in 2003, and I was able to attend the ceremony and burial. There was no headstone at the time, but several years later I visited at Memorial Day when every grave was marked with a flag. I finally captured a picture of it for my Grandmother. This canvas is spectacular and seems almost 3D when seen in person. I’ve made three canvases so far, with frames and without. All have turned out spectacular.” D P, you really have made our day with your kind remarks.

How creative and poignant is this next canvas that Carol asked us to put on canvas. “My Grandfather was born in Alia Sicily in 1898 and immigrated to the US at the age of 23. He never returned to Alia and never saw his family again. In 2009, my sisters and I started planning a trip to Alia to walk in the town where my Grandfather was born. We took the trip in 2010 and visited the church where my Grandfather was baptized. The hands in the photo are those of the parish priest and the book he is holding is open to the entry in 1898 listing my Grandfather’s baptism. The earliest entries in the volume were dated 1821. I couldn’t have been more pleased. I plan to purchase more from them in the future.”

Hats Off to 2012!

Friday, January 6th, 2012

Let’s welcome in the New Year with a “tip of our hats” and hope that nothing along the 2012 road causes us to “hold on to our hats”.  The whole idea prompts me to take a look at hats on canvas!

Barbara asked us to put this sweet photo on Canvas.  “It was a wonderful experience! So quick and easy,” she told us.  “My photo was twenty years old and needed cropping.  You guys did a wonderful job. I will definitely recommend you to everyone.”

Radelle is a professional photographer.  “This is a photo of my two-year-old son. It is my favorite photo of his life thus far, and I cherish it beyond words! As a pro photographer, I was using a different canvas company. Once this canvas arrived from Canvas on Demand, I think it’s safe to say that I’ve now switched. I am SO PLEASED! It literally took my breath away. I gasped when I saw it. My son came running to ask me what was wrong.  It was that nice. The printing and shipping time was very quick, and you shipped to Canada with no problems, no hiccups at all.  LOVE IT!”  I love it too, Radelle.  Your little son is a charmer, so I can see why you cherish this canvas so!

This next customer was on her way to the zoo and captured this photo of a young zookeeper.  “I want to say thanks for the wonderful work you did on the canvas that I ordered. Your team went above and beyond! My photo was not sized right and your customer service representative contacted me to say you would upgrade the size at no additional charge to me. That blew me away! Most other companies would have just cropped the photo or canceled my order. I just wanted to say thanks again! I will be a returning customer!”

Susan loved this photo of her grandson, but she didn’t want the people in the background.  “I just wanted Canvas on Demand to capture my grandson’s utter joy! The service was exceptional and the canvas is fantastic! The end result far exceeded my expectations, and I could not be happier. In fact, I am going to order another for my son and daughter-in-law as a gift.”

Idioms are often great reminders and encouragers.  “Taking off our hats” is a way of showing honor and anticipation…and a way of welcoming.  Let’s launch this year with such an attitude!  Mom

More Than Vintage

Thursday, July 7th, 2011

Our Customer Showcase has several categories like Family, Kids, Nature, Vacation, but the one that draws me most often, is the one titled Vintage.  Ok, I admit it; I can be pretty nostalgic and reflective.

Rosa's Typewriter

And I love recalling the past and noting how things have changed.  So it’s no wonder that I am delighted at how our customers can put a twist on the theme.  Take Rosa for example, who tells us simply:  “A personal photograph of our old typewriter.  And Canvas on Demand wowed with great quality!”  That canvas is wonderful and edgy and retro!  I love it, Rosa.  Please tell us where you will hang it.

I also think you will enjoy this melancholy one by Kyle.  It certainly grabbed my attention.  “This photo pays homage to my late grandfather and his favorite cocktail. The day I received the news, I decided to made myself a Manhattan in honor of Grandpa, and while I was sipping on it, I had a vision of this scene. After taking this photograph and having it printed on canvas, I think the Manhattan has become my favorite cocktail too.”  What a touching way to honor your grandfather.  It made me wonder what I would combine and photograph in memory of the dear ones in my life.  Perhaps they aren’t with me anymore…but the canvas would serve as a reminder.  Thanks for a great idea, Kyle.  He also wrote a testimonial: “Your website is very easy to use and, more importantly, the finished product looks exactly like what I imagined, which is no small feat. I’m very satisfied and have already recommended Canvas on Demand to my friends.”  Kyle, I think your grandfather is smiling!

Honoring his grandfather

And I had to share this one with our readers, especially the women.  Anthea told us: The photo was shot in 1977 at the Winton Place along Lake Erie at a hair show that my husband, Scott, held for fellow stylists. The hair was cut in front of an audience and photographed at the show. Canvas on Demand did a terrific job and we had the front view of the photo done also. They hang side by side in our hair salon in Beachwood, Ohio: Full-Circle-Studio. What fun!  Thanks for sharing this story with us, Anthea. Those are two stimulating pieces that you are using commercially and bringing lots of smiles and memories to your customers at the same time.
