Natural Beauty

Monday, December 13th, 2010

I’ve been blessed with five beautiful  granddaughters, so it stands to reason that I love these two canvases that I’m featuring today.  I was captivated by the two subjects’ grace–innate and natural!

This first canvas  on the right punctuates the young girl’s poise and charm.  We created it for Marie from Cortlandt Manor, New York.   It is of her daughter Katie and was taken while they were on vacation.  It has understandably become one of their family favorites.  Marie told us, “I had a canvas made for each of Katie’s grandmothers, and they turned out beautiful!”   The ocean spray, the hair blowing in the wind, the white dress, and the wistful look in those eyes!  What a combination!

The same is true of this photo on the left, which we turned to canvas for Nicole from Cedar Park, Texas. Again it was created from a picture of her daughter.  They were traveling in the colonial cities of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.  Note the colors and the contrast and the textures in this canvas!

Without even trying, both of these young girls exude radiance beyond description.  Two elegant little girls, two proud mothers, and two amazing art canvases from Canvas on Demand.  Thanks for sharing the stories behind these wall hangings, Marie and Nicole.  I am delighted and many of our readers will be too.  In fact, I suppose there will be a few moms who are inspired to grab their cameras and their daughters to capture the intrinsic loveliness and allure that may well be suited for a canvas that will hang in a place of honor.  Mom

What’s Your Adventure?

Monday, June 28th, 2010

Last week I posted an article about adventure and asked our readers to let us know about the adventure in their lives.  I ended the post with: “Now GO DO SOMETHING EXCITING!”

Well, one of our pro customers, Linda Sherrill from Justus Photography, contacted me with an exciting interest.

Mom:  I saw your blog from June 17th.  You said you’d like to see things we do that are exciting.  I’m one of the Canvas on Demand Pro customers, and I ride endurance horses.  We compete all over the country and ride 50 miles a day–kind of like a marathon on horseback!  This is a photo of me on my mare Monaliza, and she is a pure joy to spend time with.  Thanks for asking about what we do.  I have this photo on a canvas in my photography office.  I love it!    Linda

Thanks for sharing your adventures with us, Linda.  If you’d like to learn more about Linda’s photography, you can visit her wonderful website at http://www.lindasherrill.com/.  And when you’re finished with that…let me hear from YOU about YOUR adventure!  Mom

Helping Us Spread the Word

Tuesday, May 25th, 2010

Canvas on Demand just showed up in another great baby blog called Chronicles of a Babywise Mom. We really love people who help us spread the word.  See what Val posted about us below.  Mom

Something I love about these canvases is the wrap around feature as shown in the photo above. You can get them in thin or thick. They also offer several different types of frames if you want it framed.

If you are looking for something different, you can go for the pixel painting effect. You can also change your photos to black and white or sepia. A cool feature they have is to turn black and white photos into color photos.

Another artistic touch is to do photo splits where you split the photo up onto several different canvases.

They retouch and restore as well as replace the background. This is a nice feature when you have a photo you love but the background is distracting.

If you are like me and indecisive, you can do a collage canvas.

The canvas ships in 3-4 days and comes very well packaged. Their customer service was friendly and helpful.

But what about the canvas itself? It is beautiful. Really amazing. My picture is a 16×20 and it is stunning. The thing that really amazes me about it is that it was just a photo snapped with my 5.0 megapixel camera. We love it, and people who see it rave over how beautiful it is.

Don’t Forget to Brush

Thursday, April 15th, 2010

We never know where our canvases may end up.   Look at the interesting comments we received from Lisa from Atlanta Beach, Florida.   Thanks Lisa for taking the time to let us know the story behind the canvas!   Mom

This  canvas is of my children and my niece brushing their teeth.   It was  taken by me to be used in our dental office. The service was amazing and the picture turned out fabulous! All of the patients have raved about it and have asked where we had it done. I’ve been bragging to everyone about Canvas on Demand. Your shipping is super fast and the service is GREAT!   Thanks, Lisa

My Dearest Little Grandchild

My dearest little grandchild,

Your eyes they twinkle bright.

They make me smile, make me laugh,

At each and every sight.

And your little button nose,

It begs for me to “beep”.

Your chubby cheeks and double chin,

They cause my heart to leap.

Because these words are not enough

I search for another way,

To show the world your preciousness

I take pleasure in each day.

I find my camera, set my lights

And off we go ‘click’ ‘click’.

To get the perfect capture,

How will I ever pick?

The first few snaps seem pretty good

But I think I’ll press my luck.

You start to fuss and pull your hat,

Oh, things have gone amok.

And when it’s finally time to choose

I look at each and every file.

It is not print 225

It’s the first shot, by a mile.

So next time I will tell myself,

“Nona (that means Grandmother),

Only one is necessary

Forget the thousand other!”

Kim Explains Inspiration for Winning Poem

Sunday, February 28th, 2010

Mom:

Thank you so much!!!   I’m so happy to be a winner.   We just received the canvas yesterday and it was so beautiful it made me cry.     I truly appreciate the honor and am so glad to have this as a family keepsake.

I was inspired to write this because I began thinking about what Valentine’s Day really means.   I know it’s the holiday of “love”, and what God impressed upon my heart this year was that this day is about the unconditional love He has for us, and how this is manifested in the love we show to others.

So I thought about the three precious daughters He has entrusted to me, and the unconditional love in my heart for them.   They are “sunshine” to my day…it is in them that I see goodness and hope and authentic joy.   My daughters are each so precious in their own way…my oldest, Grace – such an adventure lover…climbs the highest tree, jumps off the highest mountain, fearless and joyful in her outdoor adventures….And Faith, my middle daughter…always with the music turned up the loudest, singing all the time, dancing everywhere she goes, such a comedian and delight.   And then Hope, my youngest, the one born with a disability…the one I was told would never survive birth…she is truly a miracle before my eyes every day…her ability to walk, talk, love life…all the things I’ve been told again and again she’d never do…she is strong and such a delight to me.   So when I think about this love, I think about the God who cherishes me and gave me these amazing gifts.

This will hang in our home as a reminder of something beautiful and a special time in my life.

Thank you for this honor!

Kim Lytle

Sunshine

Laughter, blue eyes, hugs

and kisses every day

Joy of my soul

Precious gifts from our Creator

Vibrant, lovely, adventure girl…

Strong, funny, dancing girl…

Brave, beautiful, miracle to me…

My angels…Grace, Faith, Hope

My heart.   My love.   My greatest blessings.
