Tips and Picks From Our Staff for Your Wedding

Wednesday, May 8th, 2013

Again, from our trained and talented staff comes a tip that can be used for anyone planning a wedding.  One of our employees named Marika sent this suggestion.  “I just wanted to show off a little something that an employee here at Canvas on Demand created that I thought was pretty cool. We often make signature canvases for customers’ weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, etc. In most cases, the image shows the couple or family in the middle with a lot of empty space around the photograph for family members and friends to sign. But this one was a little different.  The little birdies in the tree symbolize the wedding couple. The heart-shaped leaves are intended for guests at the wedding to sign. I just think it is a great canvas, and a sweet idea!”   Marika

Wow, Marika, this is elegant and creative.  Thanks for sending this so I can share it on our blog.  I bet some of our readers will use it or pass it along to those planning their special day. After all, it is spring, and love is in the air.  And June is just around the corner. This idea makes a fabulous keepsake and is a way of remembering not only the event but all the guests who participated.

This is proof again that Canvas on Demand employees are truly the experts in the Photo to Canvas business.  Remember, all those folks are standing by to help you with your next order.  You can call them or simply use the live chat feature on the Canvas on Demand website.

I wish you the best as you plan your wedding!  Mom

Tips and Picks from Our Team, Part 2

Sunday, April 21st, 2013

As promised in my last post, here is yet another article from a member of Canvas on Demand’s staff.  Her name is Shannon, and she is sharing two of her favorite canvases and tips for our readers.

This first is an awesome canvas from a photo of Shannon in her spectacular bridal gown.  She told us that “the image was taken in the fields surrounding my wedding venue.  I had it taken so I would have a bridal portrait of myself displayed at my reception just to show a little more detail of the dress. You see, I was so busy talking to people, that I didn’t actually get the chance to be one-on-one with everyone. The canvas gave my guests an opportunity to get a close up look of The Dress.  And of course, I also had it created, so I could display it in my home after the wedding to remind my husband and I of our wedding day.”

Then she gave her tip to our readers:  “Choose a photo you love.  Our canvases are very durable and will be a beautiful addition to your walls. They will last for years and years to come. You will be delighted at how people will take notice of your canvas when they visit your home; that’s why it’s important to choose a higher quality image.  It will look its very best from up close and from far away.”

As amazing as that first canvas is, I think her next one will really make your heart sing!  She explains:  “My family has raised and rescued several animals over the years. My mom has always had a very close connection with all of our pets, so for Mother’s Day, my father, brother, and I put a collage together of all those animals that have been a part of our family. My mother absolutely loved it! It is a great way to remember our pets who have left us and the stories behind their rescues. For example, the first two dogs on the third row are mother and daughter. We adopted the mother when she was pregnant and two short weeks later, we had seven puppies! We kept one and found wonderful homes for the rest.   Pet canvases are great! Pets are a part of your family; so don’t they deserve a spot on your wall too?”

The Month for Weddings

Wednesday, June 13th, 2012

I just can’t let the month of June pass without writing a post about weddings.  It is so fun to see the different images that come in for us to convert to canvases.  For example, Maureen sent us a comment explaining her photo:  “Every bride wants a photo to show off her dress.  Afterall, you find the perfect one, have your hair and makeup done, and it’s over in just a few hours, never to be worn again. Having this portrait on canvas really spotlights me and the gown! It’s beautiful.  The service was great.  I confirmed the custom size that would fit my photo, and they shipped much quicker than I expected. The canvas is incredible!  My husband and I LOVE it!” You look fabulous in that gown, Maureen!

Now how far from that lovely wedding dress photo is this next shot sent to us by Amber!  “The photo is of my husband and I during our engagement photo shoot when we jumped into a public water fountain! I love the picture, because its candid of the two of us laughing together. I am extremely impressed with Canvas on Demand. Not only did they upgrade my print to a large size to better fit the picture, I received my order within a few days of ordering! After this experience, I definitely plan to order more canvas prints in the future!”  And after this fun canvas, our staff will certainly be looking forward to working with you in the future, Amber.  I especially loved your husband’s foot.  How delightful!

I really loved the creative manner in which Tara showcased the wedding rings below.  “This was taken by me on my honeymoon to Italy. I placed my wedding rings and my husband’s ring on an orchid and took some great close-ups!  Canvas on Demand’s service was great. Very prompt with responses to questions. It turned out better than I could have hoped for. The image looks great!”  Tara, I bet there will be many others who use your idea.  Thanks for sharing!

I am including this next shot because I love the grace of it!  The couple wrote in a testimonial on our Wedding Showcase:  “This is one of our wedding photos of me and my lovely wife. At first I thought you guys were just going to slap it together and ship it out like some other places do. But I was floored when not only did I get an e-mail telling me that the size I chose didn’t look right…but that ya’ll were going to custom make a frame for me for free. It meant a lot to me that someone there took the time to look at my picture, and see that there was a better way to do it. Thanks guys.  Ya’ll are awesome.”

And I wanted to end with a lovely picture-perfect traditional canvas that we created for Erin. “This was a professional photo taken on our wedding day. We thought it was such a great one because it included our families, friends, and minister. Canvas on Demand was extremely easy to use and very affordable. I requested a custom size canvas, butI was worried it may not be the correct size for the picture. I spoke to a customer service rep who assured me that if the size didn’t fit the photo we would receive a call from the photo tech to review it. We received the canvas quickly, and it looked great! We definitely will use Canvas on Demand again in the future!”

What Do You Call It? We Call It Nostalgia!

Thursday, November 3rd, 2011

With the holidays right around the corner, our thoughts turn to family.  Jane Howard said, “Call it a clan, call it a tribe, call it a family.  Whatever you call it, whoever you are, you need one…”

If you are trying to come up with the perfect gift idea, why not give the gift of nostalgia?  Just look at the amazing heirloom quality of these canvases.  Now these are gifts that never stop giving!

The canvas we made for Connie is of her parents’ wedding.  It was taken in 1949.  The photo is a close-up wedding portrait of my parents.  It was a colorized black and white and not very good quality.  But Canvas on Demand more than exceeded my expectations. When they determined it could not be worked on as a large canvas like I had ordered, they contacted me, and we discussed options. The final product was a spectacular 8×10 in a perfect frame. I am so happy, I am ordering three more.“

Wedding Memories

Paulette was equally happy with her canvas.  She told us: “This is a high school graduation photo of my grandmother Leone dating back to 1908. This is an incredible image, and one I will cherish forever.  I cannot stress enough the perfection in customer service and restoration to final product rendered. I have already recommended this site to many friends. The finished product is absolutely beautiful.”

High School Memories

Now here is a gift that Elissa gave to her father for Christmas, and I’ll bet it’s one of his most treasured possessions!  “The photo is of my great x 4 grandfather, a Union officer in the Civil War with all officers. The service was excellent! The photo was in very bad condition and the restoration was amazing! I can’t wait to give the canvas to my father for Christmas!”

Patriotic Memories

And finally, I love the canvas that Sulaisman had us make for him.  It’s all about community leadership.  “Yes leadership.  A very important black and white portrait of leadership in my community with family members in there too.  I requested someone to call me to assist with actual dimension of frame depending on picture quality. A person called me and spent the time needed to explain which dimensions would look nice and kept assuring me that the canvas would be beautiful. I added touch up service level one and was pleased.”

Leadership Memories

How can there be any doubt about the perfect holiday family gift?  Now is the time to start digging out the treasures, making decisions, and placing your orders.  You won’t be disappointed when you give a bit of nostalgis to family loved ones!  Mom
